Merzouga is a small village at the edge of Erg Chebbi, the tallest and most dramatic sea of dunes in Morocco — some rising more than 100 metres. Getting to Merzouga
From Marrakech

The most comfortable months are October to early November and March to April — warm days and manageable nights. Is Merzouga or Zagora better for the desert?
Merzouga (Erg Chebbi) has the tall, classic dunes and better camps, and is the choice for most travellers despite being further from Marrakech. Zagora's Erg Chigaga is closer and quieter but the dunes are lower and harder to reach.
How long should I spend in Merzouga?
At least one night in a desert camp. Most people reach the dunes on a 3 to 5-day tour that includes the drive from Marrakech or Fes and the kasbah route along the way.
What is there to do in Merzouga besides camel riding?
